Xmas????

This year Xmas will be a bit different for me, I'll be in Marrakech with a worm weather and the sun...but I have to admit that I miss Xmas atmosphere : cold, snow, Xmas decorations in the streets...so I put a little video (on the right): switch on the speakers and listen!

Here in these days there is a particular atmosphere, but not for Xmas, for the AID. It's a Muslim feast to remember the day when Abraham was about to kill his son Isaac, to follow God's orders. But God stopped him and asked him to sacrifice a sheep instead. So, to remember all this (just remark how similar our religions are, we have exactly the same episode in the Bible!!!) all families kill a sheep in their houses (poor things!!!) and they have a big family lunch (like us for Xmas). The days before the feast, everyone has to go and buy a sheep, that needs to be brought home (alive!). So you can see among the traffic in the town sheep in any mean of transport : cars, vans, pick-ups, carts and...in little motorbikes (moped)!!!!

CASA A MARRAKECH

Ciao a tutti! Appena ho foto nuove vi farò vedere l'evoluzione!!!!

Hello everybody! Some of you asked me to see my house here in Marrakech...'till now I didn't publish the pictures because I was waiting to furnish a bit the apartment...but time is running and we still didn't finish so I'll post the pictures took in October, just to show the situation at the beginning. As soon as I'll have new pictures I'll show you the changing!!!

This is the living room (up) + dining room (down)

here the "beautiful" moroccan kitchen...it's a bit frustrating to have such a kitchen at home when we're here to sell italian kitchens...

and finally the view from one of the balconies!

ON THE ROAD...

When you move to a new place is never easy, but if you move to a town 3000Km away...well, it's even worst! After choosing among all our stuff what we absolutely wanted to bring with us, we tried to fit everything in our Clio...what a car! It was completely full, as you can see in the pictures, there was just enough space for Nils and me (almost enough...) but it did anyhow all the 1000km to Sète (France, next to Montpellier) without problems!!! And without a stop neither, because we were afraid to miss the ferry that was luckily 2 hours late, so we arrived in time to cue in the port with all the other cars. Most of them were Moroccans living in Europe, going back home and their cars were even more charged than ours!!!!

And then...after 36 loooong hours on a ferry that looked like it had the same age as the Titanic (but smaller and uglier...), we finally landed in Africa!!! But before to be able to take the road, we had to pass through the CUSTOM. And to pass the custom in Morocco you need a lot of patience!!! You enter in a hangar and you start to cue...waiting that the officer come to take your green form and let you pass. But this waiting could be very long, especially if you don't want (like us) give a little present to the officer. But anyhow, all's well that ends well, and we finally managed to get out and take the motorway from Tanger to Marrakech. The motorway was almost empty, apart some tracks charged like in a cartoon, so after only 6 hours drive, we arrive to our final destination: MARRAKECH!!!

Some of you may wonder...why is she moving in Morocco?
Well, you should already know everything about it, but, in case some of you were distracted...
Nils (the beautiful guy in the picture and my boyfriend...) decided to open a kitchen (italian kitchens!!!) shop in Marrakech, and me...what do you think I should do? Well, of course I seize the opportunity...and follow him there!!!

Here some pictures of the wonderful shop "Studio In", situated in the modern and chic town center of Marrakech.

The medina is the historical center of arab towns, in Marrakech it's a maze of narrow streets (more or less clean, depends on the areas, but anyway really safe for a tourist wondering around). On both sides you have high walls like in the picture...

Then if you enter in one of the wooden door...you wouldn't expect it...you find wounderful houses, with plants, fountains, swimming pools...
Most of those houses (called riad) are bed & breakfast, like the one on the pictures, the Dar El Souk riad.

Wondering around the medina you will easily see stork nests on the fortified walls.

And finally...a picture of the Koutoubia, the minaret of the biggest mosque of Marrakech.

Premier jour à Marrakech

Premier jour à Marrakech
Finalmente!
Insomma perfetto!

Finally! After waiting for months I’m back in marrkech….and this time for 2 weaks!!!
Here some pictures of my first day…the first thing I noticed (since I went out from the plane, at 9 pm…) was the nice warm temperature! During the day it can reach 30° and in the night a bit fresher, but not too much. What to say? Perfect!
Sunday morning at 8.30 moroccan breakfast under the warm sun : mint tea and crepes (with a lot of honey).
Then a tour out of the town to visit the lake of Lalla Takerkoust (don’t ask me how to pronounce it…)
Have a look at the pictures of the dry (but beautiful) view in the countryside (only olive trees and eucalypts survive) and of the lake (a bit empty in this season…)

HARRY POTTER

This is the book that took all my spare time (and not only...) in the last week.
It's the 7th book, the last one that tells the story of the famous english wizard.
For me is the best of the 7 books, finally everything is esplained, finally we understand everything that happened in the other books!!!
It's just a pity that I've read all of them...but in a few years I'll read them all again!!!!

HOLIDAYS 2007!!! prima parte

This year I've spent the summer holidays in France...what a news! would say who kows me well! Yeah, I know, but with a french boyfriend holidays in France are obviously quite frequent!!! But luckily we've got family and friends a bit everywhere, so each time we go in different places!!!

3-4-5 august : 3rd Aber-erasmus meeting...what the hell is this? Is the meeting with all the friends who were erasmus in Aberystwweth (it's in Wales!!!) almost 8 years ago!!! Wow, time flyes!

ed ecco il gruppo al completo:

now the whole group:

o quasi, mancano Laurence e David...

not whole, Laurence and David were not in the pictures...

We've realized that at the end we didn't change so much in 8 years...we're still the same...apart a couple of marriages and a baby coming soon...

Esibizione sincro

In english now...

As not everybody knows, since a was young I had practiced a wonderful sport: synchronized swimming.

In 2003 after a long pause, I started again in the "master" team, that is over 20 years-old (old people, then...)

We partecipate to a World Championship and to many Italian Championship, but during the summer we also organize some performances in private swimming pools. July, the 21st for example we did a show in a "little" swimming pool of a villa in the Pesaro hills...
