CASA A MARRAKECH

Ciao a tutti! Alcuni mi hanno chiesto di vedere la mia casetta qui a Marrakech...fin'ora non avevo messo le foto perchè aspettavo di aver arredato un po' l'appartamento...però visto che il tempo passa, e ancora non abbiamo finito...intanto vi mando le foto fatte a ottobre, tanto per farvi vedere la situazione all'inizio. Appena ho foto nuove vi farò vedere l'evoluzione!!!!

Hello everybody! Some of you asked me to see my house here in Marrakech...'till now I didn't publish the pictures because I was waiting to furnish a bit the apartment...but time is running and we still didn't finish so I'll post the pictures took in October, just to show the situation at the beginning. As soon as I'll have new pictures I'll show you the changing!!!

ON THE ROAD...

I traslochi sono sempre traumatici...ma quando ci si sposta a 3000 km di distanza...beh, è ancora più complicato!!! Dopo aver fatto una scelta delle cose + urgenti e irrinunciabili da portare con noi, abbiamo cercato di sistemarle tutte dentro la nostra povera Clio...che macchina! come vedete dalle foto era piena come un uovo, a parte lo spazio per me e per Nils (nemmeno tanto poi...) non credo che sarebbe entrato più nemmeno uno spillo! E nonostante tutto la povera macchinina non ha dato segni di cedimento. Si è fatta tutti i 1000Km fino a Sète (Francia, vicino a Montpellier...) senza praticamente fare pause! Infatti, nonostante avessimo calcolato i tempi, alla fine abbiamo rischiato di perdere il traghetto (fortunatamente il traghetto marocchino era in ritardo di 2 ore!!!!). Comunque una volta al porto abbiamo tirato un sospiro di sollievo ci siamo messi in fila con le altre macchine, per la maggior parte di marocchini residenti in europa che tornavano a casa. Beh, devo dire che in confronto alle loro macchine la nostra non era poi così carica!!!

When you move to a new place is never easy, but if you move to a town 3000Km away...well, it's even worst! After choosing among all our stuff what we absolutely wanted to bring with us, we tried to fit everything in our Clio...what a car! It was completely full, as you can see in the pictures, there was just enough space for Nils and me (almost enough...) but it did anyhow all the 1000km to Sète (France, next to Montpellier) without problems!!! And without a stop neither, because we were afraid to miss the ferry that was luckily 2 hours late, so we arrived in time to cue in the port with all the other cars. Most of them were Moroccans living in Europe, going back home and their cars were even more charged than ours!!!!

E dopo 36 lunghissime ore su un decadente traghetto degli anni '80 (anche se a vederlo avrei detto che era dell'epoca del Titanic...), siamo finalmente sbarcati in terra africana!!!! E lì...beh, come tutti abbiamo dovuto passare attraverso la DOGANA. La dogana in Marocco non funziona come in altri paesi, ti fanno aspettare in un capannone, tutte le macchine in fila, ma poi non seguono la fila, devi armarti di santa pazienza e aspettare che il doganiere di turno ti faccia il favore di prendere il tuo modulo verde e di farti passare. La cosa può andare anche parecchio per le lunghe, soprattutto se non sei intenzionato come noi a fare un regalino ai doganieri... Comunque tutto bene quel che finisce bene...siamo usciti dal porto e ci siamo incamminati per l'autostrada che da Tanger ci avrebbe portato (in sole 6 ore!!!) a Marrakech. L'autostrada era pressochè deserta, a parte qualche camion carico come nei cartoni animati, quindi senza troppi intoppi siamo arrivati dopo soli 3 giorni di viaggio alla nostra meta...MARRAKECH!!!!

And then...after 36 loooong hours on a ferry that looked like it had the same age as the Titanic (but smaller and uglier...), we finally landed in Africa!!! But before to be able to take the road, we had to pass through the CUSTOM. And to pass the custom in Morocco you need a lot of patience!!! You enter in a hangar and you start to cue...waiting that the officer come to take your green form and let you pass. But this waiting could be very long, especially if you don't want (like us) give a little present to the officer. But anyhow, all's well that ends well, and we finally managed to get out and take the motorway from Tanger to Marrakech. The motorway was almost empty, apart some tracks charged like in a cartoon, so after only 6 hours drive, we arrive to our final destination: MARRAKECH!!!

ITALIAN KITCHENS IN MARRAKECH

Ma...qualcuno si chiederà...perchè te ne vai a Marrakech?
Cioè, in teoria lo dovreste già sapere tutti, ma non si sa mai, magari qualcuno si è distratto...
Nils (questo bel ragazzo nella foto, nonchè mio fidanzato...) ha deciso di aprire un negozio di cucine (italianissime, FEBAL) a Marrakech, ed io...cosa dovevo fare? Prendo la palla al balzo...e lo seguo, no!!!!

Some of you may wonder...why is she moving in Morocco?
Well, you should already know everything about it, but, in case some of you were distracted...
Nils (the beautiful guy in the picture and my boyfriend...) decided to open a kitchen (italian kitchens!!!) shop in Marrakech, and me...what do you think I should do? Well, of course I seize the opportunity...and follow him there!!!

LA MEDINA

La medina è il centro storico delle città arabe. Qui a Marrakech è formata da stradine strette e tortuose (+ o - pulite, dipende dalla zona, ma comunque sempre tranquille e sicure per i turisti...), delimitate da alte mura rosse, rosa...insomma tipo quelle della foto...

The medina is the historical center of arab towns, in Marrakech it's a maze of narrow streets (more or less clean, depends on the areas, but anyway really safe for a tourist wondering around). On both sides you have high walls like in the picture...

Poi se entri in una delle tante porticine di legno che si affacciano nelle viuzze...beh, non te l'aspetteresti mai, ma trovi delle case stupende, con giardini interni con fontane, piscine...

E molte di queste case (che qui si chiamano riad) sono dei bed & breakfast. come quello delle foto, il riad Dar El Souk.

Then if you enter in one of the wooden door...you wouldn't expect it...you find wounderful houses, with plants, fountains, swimming pools...

Most of those houses (called riad) are bed & breakfast, like the one on the pictures, the Dar El Souk riad.

Vagando ancora per la medina è facile vedere sulle mura i nidi delle cicogne, che qui a Marrakech hanno stabilito la loro dimora invernale.

Wondering around the medina you will easily see stork nests on the fortified walls.

E per finire...non può mancare una foto della Koutoubia, il minareto della moschea più grande di Marrakech.

Premier jour à Marrakech

Finalmente! Dopo mesi di attesa finalmente sono tornata a Marrakech...questa volta per ben 2 settimane!
Ecco il reportage della prima giornata...innanzi tutto (già da quando sono scesa dall'aereo)...che caldo!!!!!! Ed erano già le 9 di sera!!!!!
Quindi primo punto a favore del Marocco: il clima. Ancora siamo in estate, di giorno può fare fino a 30° e la sera un po' + fresco, ma non troppo. Insomma perfetto!
Domenica mattina alle 8.30 colazione in terrazza in maniche corte. Tè alla menta e crepes marocchine (una via di mezzo tra la piadina e le crepes francesi, con dentro il miele).
Per la mia prima giornata qui abbiamo deciso di andare un po' fuori città, al lago di Lalla Takerkoust (non ho idea di come si pronunci...).
Ecco alcune foto del paesaggio nei dintorni di Marrakech (piuttosto asciuttino in questo periodo...) e del lago che non era nel suo periodo migliore.

Finally! After waiting for months I’m back in marrkech….and this time for 2 weaks!!!
Here some pictures of my first day…the first thing I noticed (since I went out from the plane, at 9 pm…) was the nice warm temperature! During the day it can reach 30° and in the night a bit fresher, but not too much. What to say? Perfect!
Sunday morning at 8.30 moroccan breakfast under the warm sun : mint tea and crepes (with a lot of honey).
Then a tour out of the town to visit the lake of Lalla Takerkoust (don’t ask me how to pronounce it…)
Have a look at the pictures of the dry (but beautiful) view in the countryside (only olive trees and eucalypts survive) and of the lake (a bit empty in this season…)

HOLIDAYS 2007 seconda parte

Visto il bel tempo che faceva fuori, dopo un week-end di festeggiamenti con gli amici erasmus. io e virginie siamo partite per una bella scampagnata nella campagna dello champagne!!!

In a wonderfull sunny day (???) after the parties of the erasmus week-end, Virginie and me decided to go for a tour in the countryside of the champagne!!!

Le matin après la fete avec les copains erasmus, vu le beau temps qu'il fesait (???) Virginie et moi, on a decidé de faire un petit tour à la campagne. Il fallait bien voir le vignes du champagne!!!!
